Project assistant, 20% (*248h, November 2025 - June 2026)
Are you looking for a challenging and exciting job at the interface between science and society? Within this framework, the CosmoVision Arts Project, directed by Eda Elif Tibet, Emmanuel Cledat, and Celestin Mutiyamana, seeks to explore and promote intercultural and interdisciplinary forms of knowledge-sharing at the interface of science, art, and society. To support this endeavor, the project group is recruiting a Project Assistant (Research Assistant).
Tasks
The Project Assistant will provide essential organizational, editorial, and logistical support to the CosmoVision Arts Project team. Tasks include, but are not limited to:
Coordination & Communication
Serve as the focal point for contributing authors and collaborators.
Facilitate correspondence and ensure clear communication between the project team and contributors.
Editorial & Publication Support
Create and oversee the workflow from calls for contributions through to collection, review, proofreading, copyediting, and final preparation for publication.
Ensure timely submission and quality control of texts.
Content Management
Support the conceptual organization, curation, and archiving of contributions.
Maintain structured drive and archive systems for internal project use.
Translation & Language Support
Translate project-related materials from Spanish to English and vice versa.
Support proofreading in English and, where applicable, assist with German, French, Italian, Spanish, or Portuguese texts.
Event & Outreach Support
Provide logistical and coordination support for the launch event of the publication during the planned Science Art Café.
Assist with public communication and outreach related to the project.
Competencies
Completed Bachelor’s degree; enrollment in a Master’s program is preferred.
Prior experience in event organization and/or coordination with authors or similar stakeholders.
Excellent command of spoken and written English; knowledge of other Swiss national languages (German, French, Italian) and/or Spanish or Portuguese is an asset.
Strong conceptual, organizational, and social skills.
Ability to work independently, reliably, and in a structured manner.
Excellent intercultural communication skills and openness to diverse perspectives.
Access to a personal computer with internet connection (BYOD).
Conditions of employment
Starting date: 1 November 2025 or by agreement
Duration: seven months or by agreement with a total of *248 hours
Hourly wage employment
Flexible working hours and option to work from home
